Committees

Executive Committee oversees operations, budget, and overall performance of the entire Coalition.

Data Collection Committee is responsible for ADAPT’s data-related work, including data collection, analysis, compilation, and dissemination. This includes, but is not limited to, collaborating with local school districts to assess current drug trends affecting middle school and high school students, compiling local and county data related to substance use/abuse, and performing research on current enforcement trends at local events and festivals.

Underage Drinking Committee is focused on the ADAPT initiatives related to underage drinking. This includes, but is not limited to, non-enforced compliance checks of local alcohol and tobacco retailers, providing Responsible Beverage Service training to alcohol establishments (i.e., liquor stores, bars, restaurants), and advocating for the enforcement of the Social Host Law and Private Property Ordinance.

Prescription Drugs Committee is focused on the ADAPT initiatives related to prescription drugs. This includes, but is not limited to, collaborating with local pharmacists to educate consumers, providing prescription medication misuse/abuse educational programs for senior citizens, and increasing the number of permanent medication disposal sites in Essex County.

Applicable sub-committees will be created based on the needs of the Coalition and each particular Committee.
